Stay Grafting is not only centred around art, but it is also a state of mind and persona which simply means to never give up or to continue to strive in whatever one pursues.

 

Established in 2012, the artist, Belvin Thompson, came up with this infamous phrase when he realised the only way to stay focused in his 3 year term at Coventry University was to not allow the pressures of his course affect his love for creation.

Studying Computing, the subject didn't necessarily go hand in hand with his love for drawing and creation of visuals by hand and tablet.

 

 

He noticed that in order to continue his love for creation, he had no choice but to actively use his free time after lectures. His ringtone at the time to wake up at 7 a.m daily was Rick Ross' famous, "'Stay Scheming", which is where the term Stay Grafting derived from.
